On March 28th the Rotary Club of Whistler held a regular meeting at a different time and location.

This time over 40 people met at The Venue for a social and regular meeting.  After enjoying wonderful buffet dinner the club conducted a short Annual General Meeting (AGM).  The main event, our guest speakers, followed and we featured two speakers:

Dr. Margaret Rudolf gave a very interesting presentation about her home country Slovenia. Dr. Rudolf is shown at left, wearing a native Slovenian costume, as she receives the coveted Rotary Speakers cup. She is a retired public sector professional with over 30 years experience in change management, project management, community development, people management, strategy, planning, policy, communications and last year she was appointed Honorary Consul for Slovenia.

Patrick Galvin the Membership Chair of the Portland Oregon Rotary Club presented a very powerful speech about developing personal relationships as a way of growing a club.

The evening Rotary meeting was an experiment to determine if we might reach people who are unable to attend morning meetings.  The Club is very gratified at the large turnout and are very hopeful that we might be able to recruit many new members who are interested in evening meetings. Look to see additional evening meetings.
